This game is written from the description by Martin Gardner in Scientific American (the classic Mathematical Games section) in which popularized the game in 1968.  Related to Bakers Six, the game has eight reserve piles, but begins with  difficulties as half of the reserve piles have cards already dealt to them.  However, once you overcome the start, the game is quite winable.
